We are thrilled to reveal that we have been shortlisted for not one, but two categories within the 2020 YEP Oliver Awards!
Now in their 12th year, the prestigious awards that continue to celebrate and recognise the region’s best restaurants, chefs and eateries have nominated us as one of the six finalists in the ‘Best Speciality’ and ‘Best Brunch’ categories, which we are pretty thrilled about!
Making the all-important decisions across the 16 award categories are three stalwarts of the Yorkshire food scene, including the multi award winning consultant chef, Stephanie Moon – a previous winner of the Outstanding Achievement award who has worked in not only some of the region’s best restaurants, but the world’s, including The Dorchester in London as well as cooking for the Queen. Also judging is the acclaimed food writer Amanda Wragg, who has worked in the hospitality industry for years, writing for The Yorkshire Post and The Sunday Times and finally, the beer writer, author and journalist Simon Jenkins.
With former winners including the Michelin starred The Angel at Hetton and Yorke Arms at Ramsgill, we are delighted to be in such good company!
The judging panel said of their research for this year’s awards: “The variety of bars, restaurants, pubs and cafes which we’ve been able to visit during the judging for this year’s Oliver Awards shows that the Yorkshire dining scene is in rude health…”
All the winners will be revealed at a glittering ceremony at the Centenary Pavilion at the grounds of Leeds United on Monday March 9 – we look forward to updating you then… Wish us luck!
