Fully appreciating the pressures presented by celebrating the ‘last’ day of the year in superlative style, we have gone all out to create the ultimate evening of five star New Year’s fun and conviviality.

Featuring an eight course tasting menu, created by our award winning chef, Paul Cunliffe, the Gala evening is the consummate fine dining experience showcasing the very best of our regional produce.

Enjoy Colchester Oysters served with cucumber granita, apple pearls and English Wasabi before devouring Butter Poached Turbot and Crab Angelotti followed by Coffee and Cocoa Roasted Venison Loin. Cleanse your palate with Iced Apple and Vodka Parfait before indulging in Paul’s decadent Bitter Chocolate Fondant and the finest local cheeses.

Top UK party band, The Cave bring the sound track for the evening, playing one of their applauded acoustic sets in the Parlour as guests are welcomed with canapés and champagne.

And, as the dessert wine makes its debut on your table, The Cave will take their positions for the Gala entertainment, performing a variety of upbeat songs from some of the best bands of the last few decades. If they don’t get you dancing, they will certainly get you smiling!

Spectacular fireworks at midnight, full bar and table service until 0100, are the final touches of this lavish evening, which promises to be an unforgettable and magical start to 2020.
