Big screen actor and mezzo soprano, Maria Watton-Graham will join Jazz pianist vocalist, Tom Seals at his next Alexander’s Gin & Jazz residency on December 4 for an evening of Christmas Jazz classics. Skipton based Maria, who starred in Miss Conception alongside Heather Graham and Britain’s Got the Pop Factor with Peter Kay, has spent the last ten years performing to audiences worldwide onboard some of the world’s most prestigious cruise liners, including the QE2.
Owner of Alexander’s, Susannah Daley said: “Maria is an accomplished singer with incredible Hollywood style which will be perfect for our Christmas Gin & Jazz. Expect beautiful classics like Frosty the Snowman and White Christmas, along with some unexpected Jazz arrangements of more conventional Christmas songs.”
Maria also commented: “I have been based in Skipton for several years now, but have only just stopped performing on the ships, so this will be my first time performing locally! Having been part of a cast for the last ten years I am just starting to find my own true voice again and Alexander’s offers the perfect platform for me to do that.”
